I see the problems in Linux sphere as paralleling the "Slow Evolution via Dogma" VS "Rapid Progress via Innovative Design" debate. Linux is a mess because it lacks a Meta Designer, so it is semi-randomly evolving while waring against entropic dogmatic forces that are doing their best to break things and make a mess. To my mind, Linux needs an intelligent Designer with a big intellect and a lot of power (e.g. a rich dude who can employ piles of smart programmers to implement a golden plan). I don't know if the dudes behind iLinux OS have the money, but they certainly have the brains for it and until now they seem to be doing a great job towards that end...
