Spreading the word?

append delete everything-linux

Have you guys considered submitting iLinuxOS to distribution-listing websites such as DistroWatch? They may be a good way to get more people to know about this operating system since it's currently relatively unknown.

Hi!

We are already on Linux Distro Watchers without applying for it:

https://linuxdistrowatchers.com

We would never submit to DitroWatch for the following reasons:

https://ilinuxos.com/kb-why-ilinux-os-is-not-listed-in-distrowatch.html

In general we do not apply to such websites because 99% of them is owned and controled by the "Linux Mafia Army"...

Please let us know if you have in mind any other distribution-listing websites that DO NOT use Cookies or any other Software to Steal Your Personal Internet Browsing Data and Sell them to 1000's of Companies, while at the same time hypocritically preach for a "Surveillance Free" Internet, Free Open Source Software and Anticapitalist "Linux Ethics".

Google Search is important too but we believe that satisfied Users is the best way to spread the word.

Stopped believing in DistroWatch a long time ago....

I don't think so, now think like this, DistroWatch itself isn't very trustworthy, as a distribution popularity is counted by the users visiting the site and not the real statistics, so it cannot be trusted. But, it have a full list of every most popular distributions and the community is the one who maintain it. By saying that 99% of websites is owned and controlled by your "Linux Mafia Army", you are saying that the whole Linux community is a mafia.
There is almost to no possible ways to get the real statistics based on popularity, as there is no distribution gather reliable data which unlike Windows or macOS, where the users is connected with Microsoft or Apple, almost all Linux Distributions is maintained by the community and offered almost no spies or telemetry that can collect users data and send it back to the creator.

I'm saying this from the point of view of a developer.

@ClickNin

By saying that 99% of websites is owned and controlled by your "Linux Mafia Army", you are saying that the whole Linux community is a mafia.

No.

You are trying to mislead and disinform.

The so called and Self Proclaimed "Linux Community" has nothing to do with the real Linux Community.

The real Linux Community is the SUM of ALL Linux Users and ALL Linux Developers.

The so called and Self Proclaimed "Linux Community" indeed controls 99% of Linux Community Websites & Linux YouTube Chanells & Linux IRC Chat Channels.

The so called and Self Proclaimed "Linux Community" is indeed the "Linux Mafia Army".

Let's remember what @root said about them:

Well, let's talk about the so called "Linux Community"...

It's no secret that 99% of all those "Linux Community Websites & Linux YouTube Chanells & Linux IRC Chat Channels", promote 5-10 Linux Distros out of 100's. This is not random.

And it goes deeper that that. The hostile behaviour of this "Linux Mafia Army" when you talk about other distros than the ones they push, is classic...

All those "Linux Community Websites & Linux YouTube Chanells" sell your browsing data to 1000's of capitalist companies by spying on you via Cookies, so even in most Linux distros (FOSS or not) you are the product...

I am not saying that it's bad to want to make money, but if at the same time you are preaching Internet Freedom and FOSS, it's a bit hypocritical at best.

So, don't lecture us about the so called "Linux Community".

We know the subversive and covert tactics of your "Dark Web Gang": Online Mob/Swarm Misinformation, Online Mob/Swarm Slandering, Online Mob/Swarm Character Assassination, Online Mob/Swarm Psychological Operations, Online Mob/Swarm Sabotage.

You may have positioned yourself at the backbone of the internet, pulling strings from the shadows, but you are not invisible.

As we wrote in https://ilinuxos.com/kb-why-ilinux-os-is-not-listed-in-distrowatch.html :

UNLESS ALL LINUX DISTRIBUTIONS AGREE TO A SINGLE OPEN SOURCE SOFTWARE FOR REAL TIME TELEMETRY ON A TRULY INDEPENDENT AUTHORITY, ANY DISTRO POPULARITY TOOL WILL NEVER HAVE TRUE DATA.

The only Telemetry data that is needed here is the Name of the Linux Distribution and the Version of the Linux Distribution.

But this will never be done, because it will unveil the ongoing plot of the "Linux Mafia Army" and undermine their profits.

100% correct!

@iLinux Support Team

I have two alternatives to DistroWatch to suggest, which are more independent and don't, as you put it, "Steal Your Personal Internet Browsing Data and Sell them to 1000's of Companies".

- DistroWare: https://distroware.gitlab.io
- DistroHunt: https://cupoflinux.com/distrohunt

If you want to spread the word without using DistroWatch, you can use these as alternatives. Have a nice day.

@everything-linux

Thank you for your input!

We will submit iLinux OS to the websites you suggested as soon as possible.

Concerning DistroWatch, it's not only the Cookies:

Have a wonderful day.
